P6 used Lego and Kinnex to construct bridges that would hold a certain weight, in this case, as many 40g glue sticks as possible! We had to plan in teams the kind of bridge we would build, before choosing our materials and getting started on our constructions. Once we had built and tested our bridges out with 1 glue stick, the real challenge began: Which bridge would be the strongest?
We talked about how to ensure a fair test:
- that the glue sticks all had to be new ones so we knew they were all the same weight,
- that the same person had to put them on the bridge each time.
Each bridge was so well constructed that it became a 7-way tie!! There are some engineers of the future in P6!
