Today P6 were experimenting to decide whether we could grow our own food on Mars. We learnt that this was really important for our new colony to be sustainable. We discussed the properties of the soil on Mars and discovered that it contains a lot of the same nutrients found in our soil on earth. We designed an experiment which would mimic the conditions on Mars in order to test how lettuce would grow in the different Martian conditions. We will identify which conditions are best for food growth through the next few days!
