Colonising Mars
Like many astronauts and scientists, P6 were interested to find out if any other planets contained signs of life. When researching, we discovered that Mars is the planet most compatible with human life outside of Earth. We have been experimenting to find out if we could create a new colony of Earthlings on Mars. First, we thought about food, and had to complete a taste experiment to discover if there was any difference in how earth food tastes in space. We held our noses to imitate what it’s like to eat in zero gravity, and we discovered that in zero gravity, our sense of taste is not as strong! We also compared some delicious Dale Farm ice cream to freeze-dried astronaut ice cream and discussed the similarities and differences, as well as deciding which we preferred! Most of us decided that we could make do with a limited sense of taste, but that ice cream should remain the way it is!
