Day 3 in Shannaghmore (part 2)
After this morning's exploits bouldering (I am happy to report that despite the sub zero temperatures, hypothermia numbers were relatively low), we came back to the centre for a hot shower and a bowl of hot soup. Just what the doctor ordered.
Once lunch was finished we were kitted up for the zip line and high ropes.
In keeping with strict safety protocol, we sent a heavy load down once for testing and I am happy to report that Miss Childs is still in one piece.
This activity requires nerves of steel and many, many children conquered their fears. In fact, we had so many participants this year, we ran well over our allotted time.
Safely back on land, we enjoyed a roast dinner with all the trimmings for dinner and a big cream bun for dessert.
We are currently getting ready to head into the forest to complete a night line activity. This involves being blind folded and working as a team. Mrs McNeill was initially worried about this but once we explained it was the same as her having the use of a compass, it settled her nerves!
Once we are finished, we will start our packing as tomorrow is our last day.
Hard to believe it has gone so quickly, but everyone has taken part and enjoyed the experience thoroughly.
Even the teachers 🙃.
