How to Make a Victorian Sponge Cake 🍰😋
28th Nov 2024
This morning Primary 7 learned all about the origins of the Victorian sponge cake and how to make one! The children were provided with a list of ingredients, equipment and instructions. They took turns giving Mrs Warburton instructions in a live demo!
Children took turns helping with weighting ingredients, reading a scale, beating butter and sugar together and folding in flour. Fun fact, Alfred Bird developed baking powder in 1843. This key ingredient helps make cakes rise and taste even more delicious! ![😋](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t0/1/16/1f60b.png)
