This week, P6 have been focusing on applying their ‘draw a picture’ problem solving strategy to investigate the pattern between triangular numbers! Pupils were given the first 3 triangular numbers and had to identify the pattern created. They then had to use this pattern to find out what the 10th and 20th triangular number would be and come up with a formula to demonstrate this. They used cubes to test their theories out and used triangular dot paper to write up their ideas.
