Jack and Jill went up the hill.....
It's hard to believe that this week is our last week of September in Primary One which means we are learning our last nursery rhyme - Jack and Jill. In the playroom we have been very busy working in the doctor's surgery fixing children's heads and broken bones after tumbling down the hill. In the construction area, we have been working very hard to build our very own well to collect water, practising how to lower down the bucket and pull it up again. The finger gym has been developing our finger muscles lots this week as we help Jack and Jill to squeeze out all of the water from the sponges and into our very own bucket. We have been making our own buckets as well as using buckets in the sand area to build our own sandcastles. Finally, in our numeracy area we have been standing at a spot on the floor and using our underarm throw seeing how many balls we can throw into Jack and Jill's bucket.
Alongside all of these activities we have been practising our new letter 't' as well as lots of different activities to help us learn our new number which has very tricky formation - around the tree, around the tree, now we've made the number 3!
