Primary 3 have been working hard on their mental maths strategies! Today, we looked at splitting numbers into tens and units using dienes apparatus! 🧮
Then we practiced adding a ten- identifying that the tens number goes up by one, and the units stay the same. 🤔
Finally we had a go at using all this knowledge to add 9! We practiced adding on a ten, then taking away one. We enjoyed showing off our knowledge by competing against each other in a mathematics board game! 🎲
