Moon Craters!

27th Feb 2023

P6 completed an experiment to think about how the moon might have got it's craters! We came to the conclusion that it must be from asteroids crashing into the moon’s surface. We then thought about the effect that speed and size had on the size of the crater! We tested this out with different weights and dropped these from different heights. We predicted that the higher up the weight was dropped, the larger the crater would be! Some of us noticed that as the height the object was dropped, it increased in speed on its way down, making a larger impact zone - a larger crater! πŸŒ“
