As part of our topic on The Titanic, P7 will be doing a series of science experiments on Fridays.
Today we looked at wind speed and more importantly, how we measure it.
Firstly, we looked at the history of science and tried to name as many famous scientists as we could.
Unfortunately, the name Thomas Romney Robinson didn't come up but he is the man responsible for inventing the ANEMOMETER we were building today. We also found out he was from Armagh!
The purpose of our experiment was to see how knowing wind speed is important for sea travel (along with direction) in determining courses, potential weather changes and fuel consumption.
Once we built ours, we took them outside to test them!
