P4 learnt all about static electricity today by using some wool, salt and pepper. When we rubbed the plastic spoon on wool and held it over the salt and pepper, the pepper jumped up and stuck to the spoon! 🥄
We learnt this was because the wool gave the spoon a negative charge. Even though it will attract both the salt and the pepper, only the pepper clung to the spoon because it is lighter! 🤩
