STEM topic of Flight in P7
In P7 we have been looking at Numeracy that we use when designing and building aircraft.
Last week we looked at the importance of symmetry when building aircraft. We built a number of different designs using paper and noted the way planes flew if not symmetrical and how the trajectory could be improved when we tweaked the design to ensure they were symmetrical.
This week we collected data based on the flight of styrofoam planes and then worked out the mean, mode, median and range to determine which plane design was the best.
