The Under 10 football team kicked off the new season with a 5-3 defeat to reigning champions, Woodburn.
Although a loss is never easy to stomach (particularly for Mr Smyth), the players on show gave their all and 2 players in particular stood out. In a league dominated by boys predominantly from P6, we gave 2 boys from P3 their debuts. Jude and Makenzie did not look out of place against their older peers, with the latter scoring a goal on his debut. Preston Marshall scored the other 2 goals ( one from the half way line and the other from a free kick). The result did not go our way this time, but there was enough evidence to suggest that the team will be back amongst the trophies in the not too distant future.
Well done to Ben and Harvey from P5 who also made their debuts.
