P6 have been continuing their Maths learning through games this week (has any noticed the 'game show' pattern of Mrs Connolly's youth?) with money the focus.
Today we played 'The Price is Right'.
The children looked at a number of items and discussed factors associated with 'costing' an item.
Then we estimated what the price might be based on a price range.
Once we had done that, we looked at the actual price before calculating the difference.
After we had looked at all the items we calculated our total difference. The person with the least amount (ie the person who had estimated the closest on all the items) won.
