Today, P1 explored our new topic "On the Farm" outside in the garden. In the sand tray, they built animal houses and pens for their farmyard friends, while over in the mud kitchen, the whipped up some tasty meals for different farm animals. At the construction area, teamwork was in full swing as they planned and built their very own farm houses.🐄🐖🐑👨🌾
After break, the children were set a challenge to work with a partner to collect a range of natural materials from around our garden. Once they had collected them they worked together to sort and organise their items.
We had fantastic conversations about size, colour, texture and shape - and some of our superstars even sorted objects using three different criteria!
