Viking Longhouses in Forest School
18th Sep 2023
P6 have been loving their vikings topic! They wrote a fantastic report all about Viking longhouses before going outside to complete some Forest School learning. They had to apply what they had learnt to build a Viking longhouse out of tarps and other equipment. Their longhouses had to have a few of the main features:
- A fire in the middle for heat, light and cooking.
- A space at one end of the home for animals to live.
- All pupils in each group had to fit inside their longhouse.
Pupils really enjoyed this lesson, and their building skills were fantastic!
