Sunnylands Primary School, Carrickfergus

Welcome

Donal McNally

May I, on behalf of the pupils, staff and Board of Governors, take this opportunity of welcoming you to the Sunnylands Primary School website. I hope you find it purposeful in providing you with a brief insight into school life.

At Sunnylands we believe the early years a child spends at primary school should be enjoyed and treasured in their own right as well as lay the foundation for all other stages of formal education. We provide for our pupils a program of activities embracing the Northern Ireland Curriculum that enables each pupil to attain his/her full potential – academically, morally, socially and physically – in a happy and caring environment, summarized by our school motto ‘Learning for Success.’

We see our school community as a family, with third and fourth generations of families being educated at Sunnylands. I am privileged to lead a team of highly skilled, experienced and dedicated teaching and support staff. We also value the involvement of parents and friends of the school in working together to provide the best that our young people deserve.

There is no better way to find out about the vibrant life of Sunnylands than visiting the school. We host an annual open night around the end of November. However, I appreciate that many parents prefer the opportunity to speak to me personally about our school and how it can meet the individual needs of their child. If you would like to make an appointment to see me and visit the school, please contact the school office at anytime.

The pupils and staff hope that you enjoy browsing this website. You will learn a little about us, and we look forward to one day getting to know your child and you one day too.
