Eggnauts investigators

3rd Mar 2022

P6 took on the role of NASA engineers to design and carry out an experiment to see if we could use of our knowledge of how astronauts return to Earth to construct a re-entry capsule which would protect an astronaut on the most dangerous part of the journey. We built our own capsules and used eggs to represent the astronaut - we had a cracking time!

The next part of our experiment was to test out the impact that dropping from different heights would have on the time it would take to get our eggnaut to land! Pupils designed how they would carry out this test, discussing how they would make it a fair test and how they would record and present the results. We also made predictions about what we thought may happen. Pupils then competed their experiment by learning how to use Microsoft Excel to create informative graphs. Once our graphs were completed we spent some time analysing the results. We are NASA engineers in training!🚀
